In his latest collection Alexander Koutny has pushed his design vision to new boundaries while exploring a signature structural volumous silhouette Koutny has introduced contradictions in textured figure clinging pieces as well as structured oppositional pleated elements that serve as intrusive yet seductively willful forms. Temporal Folds is an expression of Koutny’s observations and musings of our increasingly relativistic relationship to time. Textile sculptures capture the ambiguity of the vice and virtue of our compulsion to move forward at an ever increasing rate. Using the fateful renderings produced in the study of fluid dynamics Koutny has created Silk organza elements that seem to propel the feminine form forward through time and space with a sense of foreboding and temptation.
